Kremlin says govt to contain inflation amid concern over payouts
MOSCOW, Aug 25 (PRIME) -- The Russian government and the central bank control inflation, and their measures are sufficient to contain any price rise possibly caused by one-time payments, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Wednesday.
“Some analysts say that this will spur up inflation, but there is also reasoned point of view of those who say that the payments will not lead to an increase in inflationary trends,” Peskov said.
“This is why the government and the central bank keep the issue under strict control. In this case it is safe to say that the measures taken are more than adequate to guarantee macroeconomic stability.”
